Community Guidelines
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Splatter lets people step inside each other's moments. That only works if everyone feels safe doing it. These rules apply to everything on Splatter: posts, 3D scenes, scans, stories, comments, marks, messages, profiles and usernames.
Post what's yours
- Post photos, videos and scans you made, or that you have permission to use.
- Don't post other people's work, music you don't have the rights to, or content taken from other apps without permission. See Copyright.
Only post what you own or have the rights to. When you post, you confirm "I made this, or I have the right to use it". Posts without that confirmation, and posts under copyright review, stay on your profile and with your followers but are not recommended to anyone else. Each upheld copyright report is a strike for 12 months; 3 active strikes stop new uploads. Sounds: Splatter only has sounds made on Splatter (your own recordings, the original audio of people's videos when they allow it, and the Splatter pack). Don't upload or use copyrighted songs, or audio taken from other apps, films or artists.
Respect people and places
- Ask before you scan. Get permission before you scan the inside of someone's home, office or any private place, and before you make a scene where someone can clearly be recognised.
- No hidden filming. Never film or scan people where they expect privacy, such as bathrooms, changing rooms or bedrooms, or film people without their knowledge in ways that would embarrass or endanger them.
- Pin with care. Only pin public places on the Places map. Never pin someone's home, school or workplace, or anything that helps people find a specific person.
- No doxxing. Don't share anyone's private information: phone numbers, home addresses, ID documents, bank details, private messages or passwords.
What you must not post (in short)
- Anything that attacks or insults a religion, its holy figures or its beliefs, or is otherwise blasphemous.
- Obscene or sexually explicit content.
- Content that calls for violence, or supports terrorism or banned organisations.
- Harassment and hate speech.
- Anything that puts a child at risk.
- Photos, videos, music or sounds you don't have the right to use (see Copyright).
Splatter removes unlawful content when we find it or it is reported to us, and we cooperate with lawful requests from the authorities in Pakistan. Reports of content against religious beliefs, content that puts a child at risk and content supporting terrorism hide it straight away while a person looks at it.
Urgent legal or content-removal requests: legal@splatterapp.com
Not allowed
- Child safety: anything that sexualises, exploits, endangers or grooms anyone under 18. We remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities. See Child Safety.
- Nudity and sexual content: including sexual scenes, solicitation, and sharing intimate images of anyone without their consent.
- Against religious beliefs: content that attacks or insults a religion, its holy figures or its beliefs.
- Hate: attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or illness.
- Harassment and bullying: insults, threats, shaming, unwanted repeated contact, or getting others to pile on someone.
- Violence: threats, promoting violence or terrorism, praising attackers, or graphic gore.
- Self-harm and suicide: content that encourages or shows how to hurt yourself. If you're struggling, please contact a local helpline or someone you trust.
- Dangerous and illegal acts: selling or promoting drugs, weapons or explosives, and dangerous stunts or challenges.
- Fake and misleading content: scenes or edits that make a real person seem to do or say something they didn't, fake news meant to mislead, and pretending AI-made parts of a scene are real evidence.
- Impersonation: pretending to be another person, brand or Splatter, or faking a verified badge.
- Spam and scams: bots, fake accounts, mass messages, buying or selling followers or likes, phishing links, get-rich-quick schemes and fraud.
- Gaming Splatter: getting around blocks, bans, limits or privacy settings, or abusing invites, reports or Splat Time.
Be careful with
- News, documentary and educational content that shows hard topics is allowed when it's clearly for that purpose and not graphic for its own sake.
- Content showing children is allowed only when it's appropriate, and with their parent's or guardian's permission. Don't pin places where children can be found.
Report and block
Use the ••• menu on any post, comment or profile to Report it or Block the person. Blocked people can't see your posts or stories, comment on them, or message you. Reports are private: the person won't know who reported them. We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and a post reported by several people is hidden while we look.
What happens when rules are broken
- We remove the content and may warn you.
- Repeated or serious breaks lead to limits (for example on posting, commenting or messaging), a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban.
- Some things lead to an immediate ban and a report to the authorities, such as child sexual exploitation, credible threats of violence and terrorism.
- Banned people may not come back with a new account.
Think we made a mistake? Write to support@splatterapp.com with your username and the post, and a person will look at it again.
In danger?
If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first (in Pakistan: 15 for police, 1122 for rescue), then report the content on Splatter.
